If you can get the bolt out (by tapping and pulling or some such) your spring
will come out. If not, your spring will hang up on the projection to locate it
on the upper side. I had the same problem, and bought a Sears Reciprocating saw
( a new tool!) and using a long blade sawed the bolt off and then the spring
came out.
