Many thanks for the offer.  I have another engine available if this crank is
toast.  1098 with the large mains (10CC serial number) with an A+ timing
pulley/cover/tensioner, as seen on the Waterloo DTR website.  The pulley has
a crappy little recess to bend the locktab back into and I think it is this
side that has spun around, since there is a portion of the locktab bent up
at 90 degrees towards the front of the car.  Either the crank has stripped
its thread or the tab has unlocked.  Either way it is 'Engine Out Day'.
