Pull back on the headlamp flasher stalk and you still get main beam - release
it and no lights. Driving a long distance like this you get used to being
flashed by oncoming cars (especially with 160W bulbs) so a kind of flicking
technique is called for so you can see where you are going (no night vision
with an oncoming car) but they are not unduly dazzled.
