Ontario, CANADA recently added the option of having 7 or 8 alphanumeric
characters to our license plates. Previously, only combinations with a max
of 6 characters were allowed.
Initially, for the un-tight crowd, the cost was $533. I found this out
after calling them several days into the program and got through on the
first call. Today the price went down substantially, and after calling
every 5 minutes since 9am ( excluding a 2 hour meeting ) and getting various
busy messages/signals, I got through at 2pm and got my choice plates. In
about 6 to 8 weeks, my '65 Sprite will have the plates "65SPRITE", although
at this point in time, it looks doubtful that she'll wear them soon. ( a
space between 65 and SPRITE would have been considered a 9th character. )
