Hi Dave,
If you are running a HS4 then you don't need the special end on the cable.
They normally have a compression clamp arrangement. I have used a bike cable
in a pinch once.
This means you should be able to cut yours off and insert the end. Now I
can't see what you have on your end so I would go down and purchase a bike
brake cable to play with first from Wal Mart for a buck.
