i discovered this trick from a Ducatti motorcycle friend many years ago -
Spray & Wash - it's a laundry detergent product. Comes in a spray. Cuts
through engine and road grease & grim, leaves no residue (the problem I've
found with most engine cleaning products).
Not only that, your engine bay smells like a spring meadow, and there's
none of that pesky ring-around-the-bonnet <G>
I use it twice a year on my fairly well detailed engine bays, and it works
great. Now, this ain;t gonna budge caked-on baked on sludge, but for
continual maintenance, it's great stuff.

I've used Gunk engine cleaner several times before on other cars, and
besides
the fact it is pretty hard on painted surfaces, it smells pretty bady, and

matter how much rinsing I do with water, the engine still stinks for weeks
afterwards, especially when it's warning up.
