I have just about had it with universal sybols on things these days.
It took me 2 years to find out what the different circles on my weed
whacker stood for. One was a circle with spikes (snowflake) the other
was a circle with no spikes (sun) they stand for choke (cold= snowflake)
and off choke (sun=hot)
But today I had to drive our VW from 1 block away coming home from
holiday festivities. I switched on the ignition to see a genies lamp, a
battery, and a lighning bolt thru an engine!
OK, the genies lamp is an oil lamp so that must be for oil.
The battery is understandable, but WTF is a lightning bolt going thru
what looks like the engine?
What's wrong with words like "oil" Battery" and "don't let lightning
strick your engine" and what about the big ball stuck on a stick figures
face?
Old farts need to know
