Dan..gotcha..

Went out to look for my body #, and couldn't seem to locate it!? I have the
serial # on the plate on the driver's door jam, and on the cowl at the
dash - nothing underhood. Would the serial # be of assistance in your
search, as mine was built 1/77. Let me know.

Terry,

Thanks but let me reitterate what I stated.
I'm trying to determine if in fact the Vin plate and
the Door plate were removed from a 77 and became part
of my car.
I had to reattach the door plate; the PO had the car
painted and had "removed" the plate prior to painting.

I'm trying to determine if the tag on the front cowl
under the bonnet could be cross refferenced with a
build date or a VIN.

I can agree with a 1 year cross over but a car with
mostly 75 components with a 77 VIN and Build plate has
me wondering. All could be legit...I don't plan on
modifying it in any way...I'd just like to satisfy my
curiosity.
