Pulled the Bugeye engine this morning.
1275, Datsun 5Speed, Rivergate kit. Less than 200 miles on the clutch.
All 4 springs were out of the clutch plate.
Release bearing totally shot. The graphite looking rounded front is ground
down to the shell. Had to use a puller to even get the carrier off the shaft
and I did use never sieze. Bearing is frozen solid. Will not even think
about turning.
Bearing surface on the pressure plate looks like it's been through a
grinder.
The seal in the Rivergate backplate doesn't.
