What if a new starter ring gear was installed with the bevel facing the correct
way for the isuzu starter? Also, my understanding is that the Spridget starter
does not engage with the ring gear before torque is applied to spin the engine.
This means it basically crashes into the ring gear while it is turning.
Although, I am not 100% sure since I have not seen the ISUZU starter, I suspect
it is of the preengaged type-- meaning that it first moves out to mesh with the
flywheel teeth and then torque is applied to spin the engine. Thus, I would
suspect having it meet with the bevelled teeth of the ring gear is not is as
important since it is not smashing into the ring gear and rotating at the same
time.
