BTW,
John Sprinzel was in town last week and gave a very enjoyable talk
to the AHSDC (with some ring-ins from the big Healey club
and the MG club).
Earlier a few of us had a BBQ with John at Tony Bennetto's
place - some of you will remember Tony from Sprite Rush. Tony
had managed to corner copies of John's early books which JS happily
signed. It was interesting seeing those books as I hadn't come across
them before.
Tony brought John out to compete in the Lactos Rally a couple
of years ago and flew John down to Melbourne for the talk.
JS is great value as a speaker, he spoke of his times as driver and
navigator in the major rallies, the tuning business, life at Grosvenor St,
and as a motoring journalist.
As always he was witty and informative with lots of amusing anecdotes!
If your club is thinking of a speaker for a major event, you'd be hard
pressed to find a better all-round candidate than JS!
