Things that go away by themselves come back by themselves, especially faults
on SU fuel pumps. The fault starts intermittant. After a while the fault
gets worse and responds with a light tap or two. Eventually the pump needs a
good whacking to start working and then the whacking becomes a thrashing to
get it to go. Finally the pump packs up when you are miles from anywhere and
nothing will persaude it to start working again not even the copper hammer
used on knock off wire wheel spinners and the excessive use of foul and ill
tempered language. YMMV
