Did you get a Taiwan shift gaiter?
Mine (all of them) are pretty hard to install and never blow out.
They are all non moss and made in England.

2 color green engine paints were used.
BMC green which is a darker olive green unique to BMC the the Brit Army.
The later Sprites used a metalic green better known as Healey green.
Olive green was used by BMC thru 67, Healey green was used in 68,69, and
maybe 70.

Too many Sprites (again)
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
