Well, I'd rather not turn the Spridgets list into a discussion of Triumphs, 
but you are correct.  The live axle TR4 was better.  BUT, the TR4A IRS had 
more chrome letters on the back, so in my youth, I figured it was better.  
(It was a whole lot faster than the '63 Sunbeam Alpine Ser. III that I traded 
in for it.)
OK, time to reminisce (read...Regret!)  I bought the Alpine for $895.00 in 
1967.  The same model goes for $10,000 or better today.  I paid $1,900.00 (I 
think) for the '67 TR4A in 1969, and got $1,200.00 for it when I traded it 
for (are you ready?) a '64 VW Beetle!!  I'm glad I'm older now.
