1500 Midget

Does anyone on the list have experience decomissioning the smog system on a
1500  Midget? I;m looking at a '75 that has a frozen air pump and would
rather not have to replace it. I think '75s will be smog exempt after the
first of the year in California. Any advice appreciated.
