Seems I have even less of a clue on this than most other subjects.
However, I heard a rumor that factory replacement or warranty engines could
have a different numbering scheme.  Could this be one of those?  What about
an engine from the special tuning bag o' tricks?

Of course I'm assuming Mr. Johnson doesn't really mean a "frame off"
restoration.  Although there was someone about a month ago with that
misguided intent.
