I have a complete '58 Metro convertible in the garage, '62 parts car came
with it. both had been in Indiana all it's life, the hardtop one big cancer
case, but drivetrain got moved to the driver. wanted the newer ('62) as it
had provision for an oil filter! Only the hood, bumpers, and hardtop good
enough for reuse. I'm looking to strip anything else of value and crush
rest, even the frame is trash

You might want to look into the value of "a complete rolling Nash
Metropolitan (no-engine)" before you start cutting it into scrap metal.
That's a rare, 40-year-old antique auto you have there and it has its
enthusiasts.
To me, that's like scrapping a complete Bugeye to make a neat gizmo for a
'61 Impala.
