Andy,

Yes that's it. Our A-series engines use a 'carbon' TO bearing, which consists 
of 
a solid circular piece of material that is 'glued' into the metal carrier. This 
piece does wear down, and should be replaced whenever you do the clutch. There 
is also an after market 'roller' type bearing available from many of the places 
that carry bits for our cars. I personally installed the roller type,  during 
my 
bugeye restoration, but I don't know if there is any difference in performance 
or longevity between the two types.
