An interesting questions.  I don't know how much longer the 1500 springs
are and if they are any stiffer.  But if they are stiffer, it is probably
not much.  I would use the lowering kit and I think you'll be fine.
Note that because of the lever arm of the A-arm, lowering the spring pan
1" will lower the car more than one inch.
