When I picked the big fat manuals out of the floor of my one dollar LBC a
couple of weeks ago they were wet through and through. My husband thought
I was nuts for not throwing them away.
A lot of the pages came unstuck as it dried.
In fact, some of the pages still have damp spots.
BUT--
I have found that IRONING them with a warm iron helps them to separate.
Granted, my books are spotty & ugly but they are readable (and quite
useful) and the pages are NOT stuck together anymore.
I am not suggesting you do this - just telling you what works for me.
Good luck,
Peggy
