When I removed the engine from my 77 Midget I had to un-screw the
oil pressure sensor tube. On my engine it is a flared fitting connected
to a rubber hose, which then connects to another steel tube on the
gauge side, and the flared fitting is connected to the block.

Above is my crude ascii art that shows what is on my car. There is
nut/fitting that goes over the metal fitting but that is not shown in
the drawing. When I removed the nut over the fitting (which I soaked
for a couple of days with PB Blaster) the metal fitting was frozen
to the nut. The result was the fitting spun while being loosened and
sheared right in the middle. My questions are:

        1. Did I ruin the gauge for life, i.e. did I let some HPFM
        escape from the tube.

        2. Assuming that number 1 is not true, where do I get a new
fitting. At a local plumbing supply house? Make one (but
        I don't have a flare tool?

Thanks for any help and sorry for the crude ascii art. The ascii art
would be better if I could figure out how to draw threads on the
block side.
