This is mostly aimed at the australian listers, 'cause I presume the rules
OS would vary.
I got pulled up by a very nice motor bike copper yesterday. No, I wasn't
speeding! I think he just wanted to look at the car :) Anyway, along with
checking my rego (I'm still waiting on my new sticker), my tail-lights, and
talking about the similarity between bikes and sprites visability-wise, he
asked me about the roll bar that I've got. The bar came with the car, and
he wanted to know if it was certified - he said that I should have a blue
and white plate fitted under the compliance plate to say that the bar was
ok. He also said it was a $60 fine for not having one. Apparently to get
this plate after the fact, I'll have to put the car over the DOT pits,
something I'm not in a hurry to do. He didn't fine or caution me, and he
hasn't given me a slip to go to the pits, just said that I should do it.
Has anyone else had any experience with this?
Oh yeah - he loved the car, and said anytime I was going for a lazy Friday
afternoon drive to let him know!
