Frank,

I have the same problem with my wife. First time she drove the Sprite she
chirped first and second, hung the tail out around corners, big grin, all
before we got out of our sedate neighborhood. Scared _me_.

Only slightly related: My college roomie and I taught her to drive a stick
(a rental, of course). You'd expect the normal stalling, etc. Nope, she
pulls away smooth as silk, shifting smoothly up and down through the gears
at the correct points, no muss, no fuss. Dave and I look at each other like
"OK, we've been had," but she swore she'd never driven a standard before
that moment. "Then how did you know what to do and why do you do it so
well?" we asked. She says "Well, I watched what you guys did all the way
from Providence . It looked easy, and it is!"

Needless to say, I married her.

Jeff
