Howdy bugeye & MkII/MkI midget owners, and everyone for that matter,
I'm wondering if I can expect a brilliant improvement in ride comfort when I
get around to replacing my rear springs. They are really saggy with the bump
rubber only about an inch or two from bump.
The back end bottoms out over the slightest of road imperfections; things
that a new car passenger wouldn't even feel.
Now I'm not expecting anywhere near that level of absorption but I guess I'm
asking whether the car should be comfortable over bumps or am I forever
going to be scouring the road immediately ahead for the smoothest route and
tensing my gluteus maximus over railway X-ings etc?
Is anyone using the "heavy duty" 10-leaf springs? Are they better than the
factory 15-leaf type?
Has anyone had success with retensioning/resetting their rear springs?
Has anyone converted a car from 1/4 to 1/2 ellips?
lots of questions I know but it seemed to be getting a bit quiet...maybe
thats cos I'm many hours ahead/behind most of you and sleep through the peak
times.
