I have seen one of these - I liked the look; a lot like the modern
color-keyed bumpers. The guy that did it, (Dave Wintz of New Life to
Classics in Mankato, MN ) said he had to add something (yeah ain't I
helpful) to the paint so that it would tolerate the flexing of the rubber
and not crack. Similar to the additives used for Fiberglass, I imagine.

Hi Adrian,
I think the thought of a RB Midget with a painted bumper is cool. The
RV8, Modern Brit v8 MGB has a painted rubber bumper. My firebird of
days gone by had one too. It lasted a long time. Somehow they painted
a base coat and had laguer over the base, so it matched the car color.
Would like to see one.
