Heat will work but be careful. You can "unsolder" the temp fitting from the radiator and/or pop the bulb on the sending unit. Have an assistant monitor the temp gauge, stop heating when the temp (with water in the rad) reaches 230. Soak with liquid wrench and try to undo it. A 5/8" wrench is what was supposed to fit it before it got rounded. Vise grips should work but I didn't say that.
