nothing there!!! Nothing dramatic just no more gears! None! In 3rd and

have not had a chance to look into it yet but plan too this weekend. One
of my car repair mottos has always been to "Check the simple stuff
first" I have heard about "overshifting " and am not to sure about other
maladys that can occur in a 75000 mile original 60 smoothcase
transmission. Is this possibly something that can be cured by a tap of a
hammer....replace the trans....wave a bucket of chicken over it ....I am

Hi Bruce. I admit I don't know a whole lot about trannys but I will try to
help. I would suggest checking the clutch slave cylinder first. Second check
the clutch and throw out bearing. Third take the side cover off the tranny
and check the gears themselves. Forth drop the drive shaft and check the rear
spline. And check the spline on the end of the drive shaft. If all that is
good then take the cover off the rear end and check the gears inside that.
I'm sure you will find the problem somewhere along the line. Keep us posted
when you find the problem. Good luck.
