Welcome to the list, Todd! (Here we go again!) Please re-read everything we
all just posted to poor Travis. Glad this is a slow day on the list.
Once again, my standard, new-lister advise is to religiously read British Car
magazine, get the catalogs from Moss Motors and Victoria British, and I might
add, join a British car club. Even if there aren't any locally, you can get
into a national club and get a useful newsletter. Read everything on this
list and take anything Peter C says as Gospel. You should also have some
good shop manuals on your car for the resto.
All seriousness aside, read the posts and make your decisions, or take your
best shot. YMMV! You Texans do things your own way anyway!
If your car has been sitting for a number of years, be aware that you will
have to replace just about everything that is made of rubber in the car. Be
especially careful of the brake parts. Your air-holding tires are probably
flat-spotted, but they aren't too expensive.
Good luck with the resto. Let us know how the move goes, and keep us posted
with your progress and questions. How are you planning on moving it? Do you
have a trailer or are you renting something?
