| A couple of years ago I built a batch of little animated Sprite cursors that
seem to have been a big hit with the Spridgets crowd. (If you haven't seen
them, they can be downloaded at
http://www.cococo.net/pub/ltturner/amylinks.htm#Healey ) I've been asked
time and again when I would create a Spridgets screen saver, and the time has
finally come. I've found a tool that will allow me to make a slide show
screen saver, and I need your help.
I need 25 or 30 pictures of Spridgets. If you have scanned pictures, e-mail
them directly to me at mailto:ltturner@usit.net. Please don't try to e-mail
them to the Spridgets list. They'll get thrown into the bit bucket. If you
have a web page with pictures of your car, just e-mail me the address of the
web page and I'll download the picture(s). Let me know if you have a
favorite picture on your web page. If you have pictures but no means to scan
them, e-mail me and I'll give you my mailing address. I have a scanner and
would be happy to scan them for you for the cost of postage.
I also need suggestions for background music for the screen saver. This
program has the ability to play background music if your PC is
sound-enabled. You can turn the music off if it bothers you. Ideas I've had
for music include:
  Rule Britannia
  Little GTO
  Little Nash Rambler
Take It Easy (by The Eagles)
I'm not completely satisfied with any of those, so let me know your favorite
driving tunes.
I only have the ability to build a screen saver for PC's, so if you're a Mac
person...I'm sorry! I understand that After Dark for the Mac has the ability
to build a slide show screen saver. I'll be glad to forward the pictures I
collect to any Mac-owning volunteer who will put together a slide show for
other Mac owners with After Dark.
Let's try to avoid filling up the mailing list with too many letters about
the screen saver. I'll post a note when I have the finished product and will
let you all know where to download it for free.
Happy driving!
Amy
