Thanks to all the people who helped with the ignition drama.
Unfortunately it looks like the guys who put the engine/tranny/shaft
back in the car have done something bad, I don't know what yet though.
Thing is, when I push the car forwards or backwards by hand,
there is a grating sound, much like a general vibration,
emanating from the underside.
The engine is not wired up yet so it can't be started.
Correct amount and type of oil is in the engine/tranny/diff.
Here's what I need help with:
a. In the Spridget Haynes book it says that it is important to
make marks so the propshaft can be put back as it was. What happens
if you put it back randomly?
b. In the same book it says that in "earlier models" (like my 948)
oil from the gearbox lubricates the front part of the propshaft.
Where in the propshaft does gearbox oil go?
c. What is the length of a Frogeye propshaft 2A1727 and what dimension
are you measuring for this? Is the 1098 AHA9053 shaft any different?
d. How can I diagnose if my propshaft is bent?
Any other clues or hints welcome
Regards,
Evangelos
