List,

I will be installing a CD player in my Sprite in the near future and have
decided to use one of those with a detachable face plate. I was told that this
was a
good idea because when you get to where you are going, you can simply
detach the face and take it with you. Other than having to carry the face plate
around, is there something that I should know that makes this a bad idea?

For those of you who are experiencing a high pitched noise from
your stereo which increases in pitch as engine speed increases,
this noise if from the alternator (and I guess, generator). Stereo
shops (and Radio Shaft) carry a line of in-line noise suppressors
which install between the hot lead from the car and the stereo.
These devices are simply capacitors and cost around $15. Oh
yeah, if given a choice, buy the heavy-duty model.

Just my 2 cents.
Paul
