I would leave it until or unless you have a specific reason to convert,
such as installing a radio or an aftermarket ignition module. There is a
school of thought that there are two general reasons to convert. First,
supposedly it makes the car rust less. I don't quite get this, but I've
read it a couple of places. Second, it _may_ lower the chances of mistakes
if the car is jump started. I never bought this one, but people make the
argument.
I converted for radio and ignition module installation. No big deal, but it
takes time to convert the tachometer. As far as I'm concerned, it's
definitely a task to be done on an as-needed basis.
