I've found a rubber manufacturer who can make exact copies of the original
rubber floor coverings for '61 and '62 Mark I Midgets, using a near perfect
original set from one of my Mark I's that I provided him to use as a
template. The molds will cost somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000 to
make. Before I tell him to go ahead and make the molds (I have 5 Mark I
Midgets that all need these floors), I'd like to find out if anyone is
interested in buying a set of these rubber floors (assuming the quality is
excellent) to spread the high cost of these molds over a greater number of
people. Let me know if you have any interest in a set of these floors.
The cost per set will depend on how many sets are made, but I would guess
it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 to $500 if about 40 to
50 sets are made, and $200 to $300 if 80 to 100 sets are made. Each set
would include the original 5 pieces.
