Jay, I've heard from others, and seen myself, the felt end up in the wrong places ie. main bearings. Admittedly it may have been poor quality product, or decades between oil changes, but who knows anymore. The rest of the universe uses paper and I see no reason LBCs shouldn't. Many of my local esteemed customers will only use paper, FWIW.
