Agreed! Consistent interstate driving keeps the revs too high and too regular
for these little engines--they were made for driving, shifting, downshifting,
variences in speed and sometimes just poking along. Not compatable with the
Lemming-like follow-the-leader, hell-bent-for-the-beach type of driving,
intermingling with huge trucks with tires larger than the car. I take the
back roads whenever I can--If I am in a bit of a hurry, i.e., wanna make time,
there are usually really good 2-lanes that functioned as the main route BEFORE
the Interstate was built.
My loose change, and it won't buy you a cup o' coffee on Route 66!
