Well I think Frank was right about the dizzy drive spindle being one notch
off. It was around 1:00 now it's at 2:30. The book says around 2:00, big
help that is.
Now when the #1 piston is at TDC the line on the crankshaft pulley lines up
with the pointer on the timing cover and the rotor on the dizzy points to
#1 plug wire. I can now set the timing to something "normal" like 13 BTDC.
So far so good.
Big problem is that now the car runs really rough and sputters and
backfires. I can't even run it like this to work on it because I'm afraid
I'll do damage to the new motor.
To top all of this fun off I broke the capillary tube for the temp guage
sensor this morning.
I'm really starting to hate this car. Does anyone have any idea why it
would be running so rough?
