Hi All,

Well it that time again for jacque to be smoged and under the new smog
laws she flunked. So here is my question.

I'm high on HC 333 PPM, spec 230 ppm, at a Idle. Now if I understand
emissions right, When HC are high CO isn't. They are inverse of each
other. CO is kept low by increasing the firing temp. This will bring
up the HC's. If I was to lower the firing temp, ie. lower temp range on
the plugs, this would increase CO and decrease the HC's.

Has anyone ever tried this?

I'm only out by 100 PPM, that's not much, CO is way low. This is the
way it works on Gas Turbine anyways.

Engine has been reciently done on top, valves, timing chain, etc. Car
is a 76 XJ12C. I don't want to get rid of the V12, this is what most
garages recommend.

TIA

Rick
