First of all I hope all SPRIDGETEERS have a wonderful holiday, Christmas,
Hannukah, Kwanza, Ramadan or whatever your choice may be!
My gas gauge is really screwy. The DPO had put a different tank (and
sender) in than stock (supposedly to clear the rear panhard rod?). He
didn't change the gauge.....so now it reads backwards.
Since I had to pull the tank at one point I at least made it
"accurate"..I bent the rod on the float so that when it was just above
the floor of the tank it now read FULL, so when I fill it it reads about
1/4 and when it is empty it reads full.
I am so used to it that I never even notice it now. GOD forbid the first
time someone borrows it (Not often) and I forget to tell them about
it....."Damn this thing get great gas mileage!!!!! it just seems to go
and go on a tank of.....<cough cough splutter..silence>"
Of course I also have a wired in fuel cut off switch so it will only go a
few hundred yards before dying to frustrate any potential unauthorized
borrowers of the car. ;^)
Anyone know what year gauge would make it read right?
Kind of a moot point as next year I hope it has a fuel cell!
