R=resistor
N=shell design dimensions (14mm, 3/4, 13/16)
12=heat range (automotive range)
Y=firing end design (standard projected core nose)
C=copper cored (copper plus design)
The only difference between them is one is a copper cored resistor type. 
Otherwise, they are the same plug.
