rough idle

I was thinking today about my car and it hit me.  Could the fact that i have 
NO exhaust system (except the 4-1 headers) play a role in the rough idle i 
am experiencing?  Having no backpressure what-so-ever, i woudl imagine, 
would cause some problems.  Wouldn't it?

Any thoughts?
