Checkout Spinrite. It's an ancient program
that NO ONE has ever been able to duplicate.
Designed by a hardware engineer, not a software
weenie. This util has been around since the days
of the only way to format a drive was with direct DEBUG I/O
calls. I've been using it since 1989 to recover damaged drives.
