Jim at British Racing Green in Delaware does rebuilds, has over 25 years
service experience. I believe he charges about $150/axle including
bearings/seals- keeping in mind that since the axle itself is part of the
bearing component, if its worn, scored, blued or otherwise "knackered" (as
our UK counterparts might say), there might be additional expense once its

Personally, I picked up a hub puller and did the disassembly part myself,
but after the recent thread on "precision preload" requirements, am putting
off reassembly for a bit until I find more info. Having been through a rear
bearing burnout on a long trip many years ago and having trailered my
spitter from Albany, NY back to Rhode Island, I don't care to have that
experience again!

I have a 73 GT6 with the non-rotoflex swing spring setup. I need to
have the rear hubs rebuilt and I can't seem to find many people that
can do the work.
Does anyone know a good shop or individual for rebuilding these
hubs? I have heard so many horror stories about people destroying
the hub flange trying to seperate the hub that I don't want to take
this work to just any machine shop. The Roadster Factory USED to
offer this service, but the told me today that they no longer do this
work. The recommended another shop (The British Mile) but that shop
is on a six-month backlog on other work.
I would appreciate any info on this subject. I NEED to get them
rebuilt.
