Marc,

You're not the first person to decide to dump the spare wheel in favour of a
car of tyre seal! If you still can't fit it all in, there are a number of
boot racks you can buy - either permanant ones that screw to the boot lid,
or temporary ones that strap on only when you need them.

Old-fashioned roof racks (the ones that clip onto the roof gutter) also fit
the hard-top, if Decibel has one.

The cushion for Danny (my dog) was made by buying a lump of foam from a
fabric supplier, and cutting to shape. I carved a hump out of the middle
for the transmission tunnel, and even two little holes at either end to
clear the seat belt units. I can't sew (and don't want to learn!), so it's
just covered with a rug tucked in around the edges.

It does make it more or less impossible to reach the seat release,
especially since the seat is pushed right back (I'm 6'3", or 1.90m as you
would no doubt say), but Danny just walks over the seat and squeezes through
the gap between the seats to get to the back.

Good luck on your trip!

Richard & Daffy (and sometimes Danny)
