Kevin,
           FWIW,I've read that it is imperative to replace the lockwashers
every time you loosen the nuts on a intake/exhaust manifold in order to not
destroy the gasket.
   I have re-used the lockwashers and not had a problem.  but since reading
this,I have used new every time.
