Hi John. Welcome to the list and the lunacy of owning Spitfires.
    Values vary greatly according to geographic region, but my 2-cents worth 
is that $1,400 - $1,600 for a decent driver with a fresh engine, fresh paint 
and good interior is an excellent deal.  Go for it.
