Well, after a re-gapping of the spark plugs, and a valve clearence
adjustment, it was almost done, with one exception.
The two gaskets that go between the carb and intake manifold were ripped,
and fortunatley one tilted upward so I could see it.
After re-making the gaskets, and re-gapping the plugs(They were a TINY bit
white on the core), the difference when driving this thing now and on last
Friday's date(http://british.nerp.net/journal/date.jpg - we're a couple of
cooky kids) is phenomenal.
It's a wonder it even drove Friday, with the air leakage at the gaskets, the
small spark plug gaps, and the funky valve clearences. SMOOTH driving for
now!
