Door handle seals and # of spacers on A-arms

On 1500 Spitfire door handles... does the 'self-stick' on the seal
go on the bodywork or against the door handle?

Q #2
What...if any, is the limit of the # of spacers it's safe to use
when trying to adjust chamber and caster on a Spit front end?
(obviously less than the bolt length   :-)     )
