The cooling problem may lay in your hoses.  Talking with some parts counter 
folks I know it has come up that they are seeing some very odd problems with 
hoses recently.  Both swelling and wheeping right through the rubber.  I just 
had that with a set of hoses I'd fitted to my Spitfire recently.  The inner 
rubber promptly failed, with coolant seeping out through the cords at the ends 
of the hoses.  Grr!
