Clutch bleeding

Please,please,please tell me that didn't do something
horrible. The fluid in my clutch M/C was black/brown
dirty but it worked fine. Here comes Dave with his
brand new MityVac to change this fluid. Now I don't
have as much resistance on the pedal as before but the
fluid is clean. Any ideas????? Helpful hints?????
