Finished fitting the new brake system to the car, copper pipes, braided
hoses, new rear slaves, rebuilt calipers...
Bled the system with Dot 5 silicone using a pressure bleed system..
No leaks!!
Then tried the pedal...
The pedal pressure is very inconsistant, some times it sinks to the
floor very easily other times is solid as a rock...
Still no leaks..
So the big question is, am I right in thinking that this is a symptom of
the master cylinder seals giving up?
Could this be the effect of changing from Dot 4 to Dot 5? the master
cylinder is the only part of the system with the old seals in it, I just
washed it in methanol!
Thanks for any help
